Alyce Cristina Vallejo

Visionary & Founder of Be Vida

Amanda is fueled by a desire to create Oneness and healing within our Sacred Home…the home we feel within our body, the physical surroundings we place ourselves in, and our home planet, Mother Earth.

Her healing journey began when a friend gifted her, “The Power of Now”. The lessons from Ekkard Tolle landed in a special way with Amanda. The sacred truth that all is well, always, in the present moment really sank in, and Amanda decided to change her life. She moved from an unfulfilling high-stress sales job in Manhattan to be closer to family and friends in Charlotte, NC. Fate led her to sign a lease for an apartment that happened to be next door to a yoga studio, which would become the home for her soul’s transformation over the next 5+ years.

Amanda got the yoga ‘bug’ and launched herself in a river of yoga trainings and certifications. She completed her first 200 hr yoga teacher certification in 2017 and immediately started teaching classes at her home studio, Yoga One. She said yes to teaching more and more weekly classes, curating specialty yoga workshops and pursuing more trainings. Amanda became Y12SR certified (yoga for 12 step recovery) and started teaching yoga at a mental health and addiction recovery center in 2018. She also pursued and completed her 600 hr Yoga Therapy Certification with Phenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and began seeing clients one-on-one using a somatic body-based therapeutic process. She saw clients through major life transitions and served the mental health of her clients through their experience of the 2020 Covid shutdowns.

Amanda’s love of traveling and having profound travel experiences with others inspired her to start leading yoga retreats. She led yoga & sailing retreats in Croatia and Greece in 2019 & 2021. Amanda knows that travel, community and the practices of yoga are incredible gifts to experience together that change the way we see and interact with the world. It’s a powerful experience that she continues to seek out and curate for others.

Additionally, Amanda became passionate about our relationship with plants and Mother Nature. Amanda studied essential oils and learned about the medicinal and therapeutic quality of these plant essences. She started to teach classes and show her community how we can boost our innate healing capacities, detoxify the home and body and take care of our mental health using plants. She continues to integrate these oils and plant energies into her services as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist.

In 2021, Amanda became pregnant and invited in a new reality as a wife and mother. Her spiritual tools have been with her as she navigated massive changes and emotional ups and downs. She is now a passionate mom, and speaks to the mother creator in all of us as we carry and birth what we want to bring into our lives. Becoming a mother has infused new energy and passion into all that she does. She currently leads yoga and essential oil workshops and healing sound baths around Charlotte, and loves putting together various networking and community events, like her Well Talks series which brings together women, wine and interviews with local health and wellness professionals. As a busy mom, Amanda only spends her spare time on things that really light her up…which is what brings us here today!

Amanda’s newest venture is the upcoming Roots & Rise mountain retreat, which she is co-hosting with Alyce Cristina Vallejo. Amanda’s first retreat experience was with Alyce in Costa Rica in 2017, and since then, Amanda and Alyce have remained close friends, teaching and growing side by side. Our mutual passions of yoga, intuitive movement and the sacred relationship with our body, the bonds of women and mothers, being at One in nature and having transformational travel experiences together led them to plan this beautiful event. They know that this retreat will be healing on many levels to all who come into contact with it. They are making space for mutual growth and transformation for our sacred women ‘tribe’, knowing that when we heal ourselves, we heal each other and we heal the world around us. This is the Oneness of Home Amanda is all about! Like beautiful ripples in a pond, we can’t wait to see how this grows and expands. We hope you join us on this journey!

Alyce knows herself as an original disrupter of her own life. Continuously seeking the edge of the unknown and leaping with love, passion, and grace. 11 years ago she found herself stuck in the comfort of a life she thought she was supposed to be living, checking all the boxes from the outside. Realizing the reflection she saw in the mirror was disconnected and closed off to the growth her heart desired. In a moment, she made a wholehearted choice to create a life of LOVE, PASSION, AND ADVENTURE.

Alyce's rich experience of movement practices have served as the initial gateway to embody her fullest self-expression. She has leaned into movement artistry and embodiment to mold a language to her craft, that reveals a spiritual connection to source and self.

Alyce is the visionary of ‘Discover Your Pura Vida’ - Adventure, Cultural and Yoga Retreats in Costa Rica and founder of ‘Be Vida, Discover Movement.’ This is where she uses her bold ability to intuitively listen, feel, and guide others through movement exploration through coaching, classes, retreats, art, and performance. Alyce takes powerful risks into the unknown and empowers others to intuitively trust themselves, to lead with love, and inspire heart to heart connection.

Alyce integrates the magic of movement and the raw lessons of life and love into her coaching. She believes in people's innate ability to unlock personal power and transformation by moving with and into the unknown depths of self with love and movement, in various forms. She values the power of unconditional love intertwined with physical, mental, creative, and spiritual movement as the essence of self-discovery and liberation for all.

With Alyce, you will discover a conversation of asana and inquiry, sensation and vulnerability, discomfort and bravery to awaken and empower your movement voice. You will find yourself at unknown cusps’ with excitement, community, in love, and at home in the essence of your whole self!

Compassionately disrupted.
